LONDON: “End of the World”

Either you are disappointed or you are relieved that we survived or should one say, we didn’t kick the bucket just yet.
Me?
You see… I’ve went trough the “End of the World” saga already a few months ago when we shot this editorial with one hardworking team of creatives for FASHIONISING.COM.
Editorial was out yesterday.
Just in time!

LONDON: “Juice & Art as Medicine”

20121006-193442.jpg

Morning GREEN JUICE and something i drink daily..read below.

All my childhood I had sore throat every time the season would change and if my immune system was not at it’s best it would repeat itself 2-3 times each season. Doctors would feed me with strongest antibiotics & obviously they’d have to up the dose as I was getting immune to them.
Until recently, when I have done a Juice Detox Reset for 10 days and my sore throat returned as my body was detoxing. So I ve said to myself, if I’m doing this to cleanse my body I might as well go all the way and do it right! I binned the antibiotics and followed an advice I was given.

Juicing, gargling and drinking:

LEMON + GINGER + GARLIC

Every morning and every evening.

Usually it would take me over a week to recover and against all odds I was brand new in 2days. Garlic is a natural antibiotic. Lemons are potent detoxifiers with anti-biotic effect that is protective against bacterial poisoning. The anti-viral properties in lemon fight infections and halt the progress of a cold. And Ginger has long been used as a natural treatment for colds and the flu. Many people also find ginger to be helpful in the case of stomach flus or food poisoning, which is not surprising given the positive effects ginger has upon the digestive tract.

So this is how I start most of my mornings. Works for me, but we are all different. Every body is unique. So listen to your body, as it usually tells you what it needs before we see the consequences.

Afternoon was spent at the V&A Museum mainly catching up with my girlfriend, sitting down for cup of hot tea & getting some inspiration for future shoots. Inspiration is vital!

Here are some of the bits and bobs that caught my eye:

Modna versus Myself

I realize it’s been almost 2 weeks since this certain magazine came out but I’m rather shy & as its not in my nature I didn’t think of blogging about it until a friend suggested.

Just over a month ago a journalist called Masa contacted me, very randomly, saying she is interested in interviewing me for a magazine called Modna.
Modna is a well known Slovenian fashion magazine. This September issue was its relaunch and 18th birthday. I ended up shooting the cover for it too.
For those who don’t know how to connect Slovenia & me…?
Well thats where I grew up.
Slovenia is small but has everything one wants.
It’s kind of like Neverland. Whenever I return, its still as beautiful and peaceful as it was when I last left.
S-afe, L-oving, O-ptimistic, its a chicken shaped land with all four seasons to it, has its faults yes but it’s innocence will make you fall for it & individuals you meet there might surprise & stay with you for life.

And

Masa, well she is one of those down to earth people you can just chill, chat and hang out with & in the meanwhile forget she’s interviewing you. Thats exactly what happened. As a matter a fact the whole team at the shoot was super relaxed & upbeat.

Images below are from the “Launch party”. As I wasn’t there nor held or seen the magazine yet it’s kind of funny seeing people i dont know holding this magazine with me on the cover. Funny but amazing all at the same time!

Check it out and if you end up visiting Slovenia or live there, go buy Modna and let me know what you think of the interview.

London: ” Truffles invades a magazine shoot “

While shooting a fashion editorial for Glassbook magazine today a lady with two puppies walks by.
This one was sweet & such a patient poser even though he looks a tiny bit angry here. I don’t blame him, not an easy job standing on your 2 back feet for 10mins when you usually use all 4.

I present to you, a talented model, who struts his stuff only part time. Goes by the name:
TRUFFLES

Sandra Berube

I feel I can speak Italian or at least I feel I would like to express myself vocally, physically and charismatically like an Italian woman would, scream and shout at the sky, rain and London traffic and with it all remain a lady of manner and elegance. Oh yes, stomp my feet I did when a passer by almost took my eye out with his umbrella, then turned radically to only realize it was a man of about 80 years old, trying his upmost to make it to the bus station and not drown.
” I , I ,.. Ooh your bus Sir! “, I smiled at him gently and laughed out loud at myself, my own foolishness. I’m more fragile than I think I am. Slight change of seasons gets me all Italian.
I needed a good laugh, a lesson or just an afternoon of relaxation.

Constantly challenging myself, multitasking…
But still leaning how to breathe in between.

This ended up being a relax-a-smile & breathe day.

So, I wanted to share some of my work I do as a make up artist, which isn’t usually seen.
This was shot few months ago.

I introduce to you, a talented model, SANDRA BERUBE, who expresses her creativity also as a Circus performer.
